Apple’s iOS Safari browser lacks WebXR support. Even though Apple has been highly investing in augmented and virtual reality since the introduction of its ARKit API.
The only way to experience WebXR at the moment.
On iOS, WebXR experiences requires users to download an app which is similar to a browser, is called “WebXR Viewer” from Mozilla.
While WebXR support was implemented to Google Chrome for Android in 2018, the feature has yet to be added to iOS. Because WebKit is the only web engine allowed on iOS, developers are unable to create a WebXR-compatible third-party web browser. Apple is far behind its competitors when it comes to open standards for the web.
When will iOS support WebXR?
Apple released iOS 16, and iPadOS 16 systems, and has released the first developer preview Beta. The Safari browser will support web push notifications, extension synchronization, and more. The public beta will be launched in July.

Moreover, the iOS16 Beta version already supports WebXR. However, the current measurement shows that VR NOT FOUND is still in the state of semi-finished products.
What’s next?
As Apple develops its own mixed reality device, the company may finally officially enable the WebXR API in its mobile operating system sometime this year.
